Domain Name System (DNS) is an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard service which provides naming service to your computer to resolve domain name registration. In other words, DNS is a system, who translates IP addresses into domain names. This is necessary because it is very hard to remember or use computer IP address, so we only use human-readable name, because the name is easy to remember than a numerical IP addresses. If you do not resolve the DNS, the Internet will be a very inconvenient place. DNS resolution is a very important task. However, you may sometimes try to connect to a system name and the name of DNS error because there is no solution to the appropriate IP address. There are several possible reasons for this, such as: DNS server is down. IP connection lost, thus the DNS cannot resolve DNS cache poisoning. Update and regional issues.
DNS server does not have network connectivity to the root server. There are few ways to determine whether your system is properly addressed. You can use nslookup command to verify name resolution. In the nslookup command can be used to find the details in particular, DNS (Domain Name System), such as IP address, records, etc. Go to command prompt, type nslookup host_name server_IP_address . The actual host name, you are working to resolve the host_name and DNS server IP address server_IP_address then click Enter. This will allow you to verify if the error is on the server, if there is a general resolution of the error, or if the server is likely to decline. Nslookup will also display a variety of different types of DNS records, not just the primary (A) record, or record the entire domain. Then, you can ping and - a parameter has also confirmed that if the DNS resolution to work fine. Resolve the DNS client, because most of the problems began not on the client query. If the DNS servers to provide incorrect data query, the answer to its success, then the most likely reasons are: Resource record (resistance) does not dynamically update a zone. An error occurred when manually add or modify records static resources area. The old DNS server resource records database, left from the cache or region to find the records do not update or delete the current information when no longer required. If the DNS server does not resolve the name of the external network, then the possible reasons may be: Recursive query timeout to complete. A remote DNS server did not respond. A remote DNS server to provide incorrect data. Recursive DNS server has been disabled. Investigation is also connected to the root server. Used to verify DNS server queries the root of the failure can Ping the IP address of the server. If the ping attempt to the failure of a root server, it may indicate that an IP address, root server has changed. Ctfmon.exe (ctfmon) activates the Alternative User Input Text Input Processor (TIP) and the Microsoft Office Language Bar. Ctfmon monitors active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input options. When you run a Microsoft Office XP program, ctfmon.exe (ctfmon) runs in the background, even after you quit all Microsoft Office programs. It shouldn't use a lot of system resources if Advanced Text Services, like speech recognition, handwriting recognition, and Input Method Editors, are not running. The bad thing about ctfmon.exe is that it has to be loaded all the time - it's just not designed to be loaded and unloaded on demand.
Now think carefully - do you really need this service? Have you used speech or handwriting recognition in MS Office at least once? I can safely tell you that 90% of people never use these features. For a lot of people ctfmon.exe is yet another startup entry that is never used. The question is - how to disable Alternative User Input? First of all, removing ctfmon.exe (ctfmon) via Msconfig doesn’t disable the ctfmon.exe process. And Microsoft doesn't recommend clicking End Task in the Task Manager, because forcefully terminating ctfmon is likely to cause various problems with Microsoft Office programs. If you want to remove ctfmon , you can uninstall Alternative User Input Services - Microsoft has detailed instructions on its website. But that's a long process that is done in three steps, involves editing the Registry, and is too much hassle.Besides, what if one day you'll need speech or handwriting recognition? A better way to get rid of it and save some system resources is to simply disable Alternative User Input Services, instead of uninstalling the completely. You can turn off speech and handwriting recognition features in Office 2003 via the Control Panel (Windows XP). To turn off handwriting recognition do the following: 1. Click Start , and then click Control Panel . 2. Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options . 3. Click Regional and Language Options . 4. On the Languages tab, click Details . 5. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Turn off advanced text services check box. 6. Click OK . If you are prompted to confirm the change, click Yes , and then click OK . To turn off speech recognition: 1. Click Start , and then click Control Panel . 2. Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options . 3. Click Regional and Language Options . 4. On the Languages tab, click Details . 5. Under Installed services , click Speech Recognition , click Remove , and then click OK . 6. Click OK to apply all the changes. You may have to restart your computer. You can read more about ctfmon.exe and other files on Fileinspect.com - a great website that provides file descriptions as well as tips ad fixes for various errors.

Whenever you add a program to your computer, there is the possibility that it may impact the effectiveness of its registry. The program may work, duplicate or simply swell to take up more space than it should. This can lead to problems which can lead you to believe your computer has a virus. You may even start to think it's time to upgrade because your computer slows down. However, it could simply be a problem with your registry. Speed Up Your Computers performance and Eliminate Errors The registry is like your computer's reference area. It stores information which tells your computer how to complete certain tasks. Whenever you start a game or complete tasks like defragment your hard drive, it's the registry which provides instructions to your computer. The registry stores all this important information, so if something goes wrong, it's going to affect the operation of your computer. Signs your registry is not working include strange errors, a blue screen, programs which won't execute or a general slowing down of your operating system.
You see, you computer relies on the registry for tasks simple as turning off your computer, starting a game or defragmenting your hard drive. My advice is to seek a good registry fix the minute you think there's a problem and you are able to rule out a virus or another cause. It's one of those problems people often put off, thinking it will simply fix itself. But, it won't. It will keep getting worse unless you act. If you act now, you may be surprised at the difference it makes to the overall operation of your PC. Registry error repair programs make it very easy to fix this problem. Summary: We found that Registry Defense exceeded our expectations in all areas tested. Registry Defense is a great registry cleaner for novices and experts looking to increase computer speed and boost performance.
Registry Fix : Summary: Although this was an above average registry cleaner in our testing, the interface and navigation kept Registry Fix from scoring higher. The registered version is slightly more expensive than other competitors.
Perfect Optimizer : Summary: Perfect Optimizer is another popular registry cleaner program that works decent. We were very annoyed with the messages and pop-ups reminding us to register the program and upgrading our subscription.

How can a free windows registry cleaner help fix my computer is a question that a lot will be asking; and this is just by looking at the number of free system cleaners and registry scanners that are available online. While their sheer numbers certainly show a trend in the market for electronic conveniences that help to sort out specific, crucial computer matters, there does not seem to be strong evidence pertaining to the quality of the free Windows registry cleaners available online.
Before anyone can understand why these small and free programs are actually quite crucial to any computer user, you have to understand the very nature of the registry and what it can actually do to your computer when it isn't taken care of. Many of us are living in a sort of ignorant bliss as our computer slowly ticks down to its slower than the speed of anything we have ever known and of course, thinking we know better as computer consumers, we go out and buy new processors, new hardware and more memory in the hope of speeding up the computer.
The problem here is that most of us do not realise the potential power of the registry to actually create a bottleneck in the system and cause Windows to have some massive slowdowns. The registry is like the matrix of the system, as well as a sort of digital log book where Windows tracks all software and hardware activities in the form of command lines, codes and embedded keys; just to name a few. The function of these data is to ensure that programs run correctly, runtime errors do not occur, hardware conflicts do not happen, crucial system and driver data for programs and hardware executions are maintained. Now while this is a simple thing for Windows to achieve, the registry is quite vulnerable to attacks from viruses and Trojans, not to mention the most virulent of enemies, which can be called 'period of prolonged unmaintained use' of the system.
Bad program installs, computer crashes, hardware conflicts are just some of the things that can cause bad keys, null values, orphaned data and even confusing command lines to exist within the registry itself. This means there is a great flaw in how Windows launches programs and the very integrity of the superstructure of the computer, no matter if it is hardware or software, will be compromised. The list of problems that can be traced to an over convoluted registry is extremely long and the problems due to virus intrusions within its matrix is even longer.
Thankfully, a free registry cleaner can get rid of more than 90% of these problems just by cleaning up the registry and making sure that all the information is correct. Loose information, orphan keys and null values are checked against system data and rectified and people who have bothered to give the registry this freely available first aid kit has experienced a rebirth of their computers, with speeds comparable when they first bought the system in the first place.
