Adware Spyware SE will scan your PC and detect any spyware, adware, malware, Trojans and any other illegitimate software installed on your machine. Adware can cause endless frustration, with adware popup windows, adware advertisements that won't go away, and adware software that seems to be everywhere on your system! Adware can also be hiding out in various favorites and bookmarks, ready to take over your screen when you visit those websites. Browser hijackers are a form of adware, and these take over your web browser in a similar way. Adware is a nuisance at best and can slow down your computer's operation considerably.

There are plenty of reasons why malware is "bad."  Are there any times when malware is valid and legal?

Many shareware programs today come bundled with adware.  The premise is this:  If you try out the program, and enjoy it, you'll buy it.  Until you pay for it, the programmer is paid through the advertising that the shareware program displays.  If the user somehow kills or removes the advertising, then he is also obligated to remove the program that was supported by the ads.

Adware is advertising delivered directly to your computer.  Generally, a program puts ads on the screen at some regular interval.  In some cases, this program can be installed without the user's knowledge, but not always.  Many programs clearly state on install that "this program is supported by advertising, and if you turn off the advertising, you also shut down the program."

Adware tends to be a "grey area" in the malware family.  Yes, it can run without the user's knowledge, and yes, it can bog down the system (especially when the adware program goes online to retrieve new ads to display).  At the same time, adware is generally more open about what it does, giving the user the choice to install the program the adware is attached to.

In today's net-savvy world it has become common for any business to have a website which they use mostly for advertising their products and services. With the advent of search engines it has become even easier for the customers to search for the stuff online. For a website to be successful its link should land in the first three pages which the search engine brings and the rank of the page should be high which means many visitors come to the site. This can be achieved by applying search engine optimization or popularly known as SEO. This is a marketing strategy which increases the quality and quantity of traffic flow to a particular website via search engines.

SEO not only affects the search engine results, but also image search, video search and industry specific vertical search engines. It determines how a search algorithm functions and searches what is popular with people. When a website link is submitted to a search engine, a spider crawls through a page to gather links which lead to other pages and stores those pages on the server of the search engine. The information collected from these pages is sent to the indexer, whose job is to extract information from those pages such as the keywords and their weights, the location of the page and other links that are stored for the spider to crawl in future.

In the beginning, the search engine optimizer algorithms were dependant on the keywords, Meta tags, and index files provided by the Webmaster. Meta tags provided information about a particular page, but using them for indexing the pages didn't prove to be successful as some Webmasters added irrelevant Meta tags to increase the number of hits and earn huge ad revenue. They even changed the HTML of the web pages to achieve a good rank for the page. But this was a case of abuse as it fetched irrelevant pages.

Search engines then began utilizing complex ranking algorithm, which were difficult for the webmasters to manipulate so as to provide web surfers with genuine results. The rank of the web page was calculated mathematically by functions using strength and quantity of the inbound links. The higher the rank of the page the more chances it had to be viewed by a person.  Later algorithms were developed which considered various other on-page factors such as rank and off-page factors such as hyperlink. Since the webmasters couldn't manipulate the page rank, they began exchanging, selling and buying links, which lead to link spamming and even creation of numerous sites dedicated for this purpose.

Algorithms became more complex by every passing day and top search engines kept their algorithms a secret. As the cost of SEO increased, advertisers were roped in to pay for it, which finally resulted in high quality web pages. Although investing in SEO is very fruitful, but at the same time is risky because with out any prior notice the algorithms being used are bound to change and the search engine will stop directing visitors to the page. Many consultants are available in the market that provides SEO services. They manipulate the HTML source code of the web site like menus, shopping carts and sometimes even the content of the website to draw more traffic. Search engines like Yahoo has algorithms that extract pages not according to the page rank but according to the cost per click or set fee, that is if a advertiser desires that the page containing his ad be displayed, he is expected to pay money for it. This is a point of controversy, as only the big businesses will be able to increase the number of hits of their page but not the small business who might be having a better quality page.

Google Ad Words explores ads which have words typed in the search box by the surfer. The Million Dollar Homepage started the concept of Pixel advertising, which is a graphical kind of advertising. Depending on the pixels, the space is sold to the advertiser. Keyword advertising involves advertisers who buy URLs of a site and place their ads at that location. Thus SEO is a market in its own which is yielding great results for businesses on Internet.

Do you know what goes on under the hood of your car?  Do you know the solution for a warning light on the dash?  Do you know what's wrong with the car if it starts making strange noises or loses power?

Those same questions can be asked about your computer.

Computers can have many of the same problems as cars.  Engine problems can cause cars to lose power, just like a large program can take up too much of the computer for anything else to run.  Where an engine could "throw a rod" or "break a timing chain," computers can mysteriously reboot or die with the dreaded "Blue Screen of Death."

When determining whether a document is in the public domain, should you pay for the  copyright search or should you do it yourself? This is a good question, and the answer lies,  as usual, in the method.

You should find two to three solid business ideas from confirmed public domain works  (works published before 1922, or government publications, or works donated to the public  domain). You can then use them to start off two or three income streams, and once you  have a small but steady income from your fledgling online business empire, expand by  picking up more lucrative topics that may require more research and money.

Let's face it: No one is going to help you build a fortune by selling you the content for $27,  $47, $97 or even $197 if they could possibly use it themselves in a massive way and  generate at least $1000 per month from it. Read More...

Public Domain works cannot be used up like a regular resource, such as oil or coal. So, if  one entrepreneur (or infopreneur) taps up a public domain work on making more money or public speaking, nothing is stopping you from using the same resource for your own  business venture.

How does that work?

Let's take a real-world, non public domain example. Consider the number of pizza joints in your town? Quite a lot, aren't they? And yet, almost every month or so, you hear of a new  pizza place opening up. Essentially, what are these people doing?

They are taking an idea, and differentiating it to build a business.

There's a powerful business idea enshrined in that sentence. What is it?

When discussing public domain, people often ask:

The public domain is limited. Even if it will never be used up, it's going to be used more
and more compared to what will be added to it in the next few years. What will happen
then? Will the public domain become useless?

First off, there is literally so much contained within the Public Domain already that so many  of the regular people don't know about, that there is no chance of the public domain  running out of options in the foreseeable future.  And then, of course, more work is being  added to the public domain every day.
